Investigating the construction parameters of deep mixing columns in silty soils

In the present research, optimum condition of grout consisting cement, fly ash, superplasticizer, and water was determined to produce most durable impermeable deep mixing columns (DMC) on silty soils. It is aimed reduce cost environmental pollution by using high-rate ash in grout. Superplasticizer additive used increase flow consistency ash. The design experiments made 5-parameter 4-level L16 orthogonal array table specific Taguchi method. Accordingly, unconfined compression strength (qu) permeability coefficient (k) soil-binder mixtures at end 7- 28-days curing time were determined. According test results, regression analyzes performed models with high reliability created for qu k. As a result optimization studies, DMC having low permeability, content should be 14% (ratio binder 50%), 2.68% super plasticizer additive, 0.95 water/binder ratio. pozzolanic reactions samples different contents examined SEM analysis.
